Mr K Prasad is a veteran lawyer with 15 years of experience in Criminal, Civil, Family and Probate practice. He graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff with LLB (Honours) in 1995. He completed the UK Bar Finals with Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Singapore Bar. Before commencing legal practise Mr Prasad served the Republic of Singapore Police Force as an Inspector of Police. Prior to his legal career Mr Prasad has worked at the Attorney-General’s Chambers in the Legislative section and Criminal Departments. He assisted the Law Revision section when a major review of the Primary and Subsidiary Legislation was being re-drafted.
Since starting practice, Mr Prasad has embarked on High Court and Subordinate Court Trials and numerous interlocutory hearings.
Mr Prasad has also successfully defended clients in capital cases under the LASCO (Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences) scheme, amongst other matters. He is experienced in civil litigation and general litigation matters, having fought cases in the High Court, Subordinate Courts, Family Courts, Syariah Court and the Labour Courts of the Ministry of Manpower.
Mr Prasad has also served in the Law Society Small Law Firms Committee and has volunteered his assistance representing accused persons and other clients through his Pro Bono work. He also served in the Law Society Practice Management Committee, Law Society Cybersecurity and Forensics Committee and the Law Society International Relations Committee.
Mr Prasad has given lectures at the free Legal Clinic and also community-based events. He has also been actively involved in the CLAS (Criminal Legal Aid Scheme) as well as in Meet-the-People sessions of members of Parliament.
He is currently appointed 3rd party Mediator at Association of Employment Agencies Singapore ( AEAS ). He was also nominated for Best use of Legal Technology Firm of the Year by the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Awards in 2007 held in Singapore.
